Kombucha is an ancient elixir that has been brewed for over 2000 years. A combination of tea, organic cane sugar and a Symbiotic Colony of Bacteria and Yeast or SCOBY, are combined and lightly fermented to create a tart, effervescent tea. While trace amounts of alcohol are created by the fermentation process, it is considered non-alcoholic and has less alcohol than non-alcoholic beer. The tea has been regarded by some as the key to a long and healthy life. The lactobacillus culture in kombucha aids in both liver detoxification and acts as a probiotic for digestion. The fermentation process produces naturally occurring healthy acids and B-Vitamins which have been shown to enhance mood.

About Our Kombucha
Happy Leaf's goal is to brew the best kombucha on the market. Our proprietary culture of bacteria and yeast gives our kombucha a flavor profile unlike any other. We hand select all our ingredients and even blend our own tea to ensure the best product possible. Our teas are raw, vegan and gluten free. We do not use any genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and source organically. Our kombucha is brewed using Rocky Mountain water in the RiNo Art District of Denver, Colorado.
At Happy Leaf, we strive to always be innovating with our new flavors. Since most of the produce we use for our flavoring is seasonal, we're always experimenting with new ingredients. From traditional to unconventional, it is our mission to create kombucha that is defined by its complexity as well as its deliciousness. Our loyal patrons are always excited to see what's brewing at Happy Leaf, and we hope you are too.
The (Brief) Happy Leaf Story
Happy Leaf Kombucha was started in January of 2013 by Jenni Lyons and Mike Burns. With Jenni's background as in holistic nutrition, and Mike's background in craft beer, kombucha was a natural fit. Like all good stories, this one begins with a hand-me-down SCOBY and a kitchen. Avid kombucha fans, their plan was to brew enough kombucha so that they could have it on tap at all times in their own home.
Well, it didn't take long before they realized that what was brewing was something that needed to be shared with the world. They began selling their kombucha at local farmers markets. Soon, Happy Leaf was able to expand to retail refrigerators and draught lines throughout the front range of Colorado.
Now, Happy Leaf Kombucha can be found in bottles and on draft at many retail locations, restaurants, and breweries. Never forgetting their roots, Happy Leaf can still be found pouring fresh 'bucha at farmers markets throughout Denver, Golden, Boulder, and Longmont.
In November of 2013, Happy Leaf Kombucha opened Colorado's first Kombucha Taproom, in Denver's River North (RiNo) Art District. It remains one of only a handful of such establishments in the entire United States.
The Happy Leaf team strives to push the boundaries of creativity in their field. It is their passion to brew the best kombucha around. The result is a beverage that is of the utmost quality and freshness, both good for the thirst and good for the body.
